Growing food not golf

Cordova Bay Golf Course in Victoria BC
The city is looking at the possibility of creating new opportunities for food growing at its golf courses.

See update on January 11, 2022 Committee meeting here:

** Deadline for feedback is July 12**

They need to hear that food is a priority for these neighbourhoods. Please share this with your networks and make it clear this is not about golf, it's about making green spaces available to more people and making space for food!

Local residents and course users are encouraged to join the meeting to learn more about the operational review, get engaged in the conversation and share their thoughts and perspectives on the future of specific golf courses. Each meeting is limited to 200 people to allow for use of live closed captioning and live closed captioning translation features (over 100 languages available). Meeting details are below:

*Note: review staff have only identified 2 courses for food production (Tam O'Shanter and Dentonia) as the other courses are on floodplains. It's still important to speak out for food growing in the west and north as there may be opportunities for limited planting. And they still need to hear that people want to grow food!
