This is your chance to see what happens when small-scale, regenerative farming meets agri-tech!

AgTech Meets Agroecology in Urban Agriculture: Free Workshop and Field Trip
From Plant and Soil Health to Profits and Sustainability using Robots, Drones, IOT and more

Hosted by STEM Minds, Boreal Farms and TUG

Date: July 23rd, 2025, (6:00pm-8:30pm)

Location: Boreal Farms, 13175 Weston Rd, King City

A shuttle bus will pick up and return participants from Vaughan Metropolitan Centre TTC station (top of Line 1) to the farm.

Cost: Free! Advance registration required.

Workshop:
Join STEM Minds for an introduction to AgriTech 4.0 with demonstrations of Robots, Drones and IOT automation in farming. You’ll explore the intersection of technology with the use of biology, chemistry, and physics in the AgriFood sector, including soil, crop and environmental sciences for farmers and Agri-businesses. Hands on activities will build skills and a better understanding of the practices, protocols and tools that Agronomists use in the lab and in the field using technology.

Field trip:
See agri-tech in action onsite at Boreal Farms, an agtech enterprise and platform that is strengthening regional food security through a cooperative of smallholder farmers using both indoor farming systems and regenerative farming practices.

Note: the funder for this event requires STEM Minds to collect data about project participants, so you’ll need to answer some questions to register. Please email rhonda@torontourbangrowers.org if this is a barrier.

If you require any accommodations to participate (including food restrictions), please register by July 20.
