A unique opportunity to see an urban farming operation from production to processing! Fresh City Farms is one of Toronto's most innovative urban agriculture enterprises to emerge in the past decade. This will be the first opportunity to visit ALL THREE sites where they operate!
This bus tour includes: their headquarters/warehouse/processing facility in the Lawrence West area, their original farm located at Downsview Park, and the newest addition - their greenhouse right next to the 427.
There are two different ways to access the start of this tour: by car or by public transportation.
If you are going to take public transit, you should take Line 1 of the subway and get off at Lawrence West station. For those who register, we will provide you details on where to meet the bus.
If you are going to drive, you should go to the headquarters of Fresh City Farms, which is located at 53 Samor Road. This is located north of Lawrence Avenue, west of Dufferin Street. There is plenty of parking along the east side of the building and there is also street parking.
At the end of the tour, the bus will return you to the location you departed from.
