Join us as we hold space together, share a meal and learn about Indigenous Peoples relationships to the land and food. Years of colonization have strained Indigenous Peoples ability to practice traditional ways, pass on knowledge to subsequent generations, and access land across Canada - especially in urban environments. Despite colonization and it’s current manifestations, Indigenous Peoples resistance is active and ongoing. Together we will listen to stories about the land and the sustenance she provides us. We will also reflect on our own occupation of this land and our role in advancing Indigenous food sovereignty, reconciliation and sustainable stewardship of our land.
