Join Evergreen Brickworks on Saturday, May 11 for the first spring First Nations Lake Fish Celebration in partnership with the Bagida-waad Alliance. 

With Water Ceremony, a panel discussion on the state of the great lakes and the impact of global warming, cooking demonstrations and family-friendly activities, there is something fun, tasty, and educational for everyone.

Meet Special Market guests:

Meet the Bagida’waad Alliance, led by Chippewas of Nawash fishing families. It is registered as a not-for-profit corporation to do research and monitor Climate Change on the waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, to encourage youth to hear the stories of the Elders about the fish, and to do more active stewardship of the lands and waters. Bagida’waad means “they set a net” in Anishinaabemowin.
