Seed packing with the Toronto Seed Library

Early spring is the buzziest thyme at the TSL as we prepare for planting season! Our office is full of heaps of bee-autiful community seed donations in addition to those we've ordered from our incrEDIBLE local/regional seed companies! Peas come help us clean, sort and pack seeds in preparation for the remaining 2016 Seedy Saturdays/Sundays and to send out to all of our branches. Learn (or practice) seed saving skills and enjoy the company of some of the seediest folks in town! >

Black Creek Community Farm workshops

March 19, 2016 10am-2pm Maple Syrup Day https://www.facebook.com/events/978959268850460/   Come learn the basics of maple syrup production! We'll start with a forest walk to learn to identify maple trees by their twigs and bark, check out how sap is collected, and then gather around the fire for a demo of the syrup boiling process. End your visit with a plate of pancakes with maple syrup, and a cup of hot cocoa ($10). >

Join our 10-week Garden Design Program this spring and learn the fundamentals of Ecological Garden Design and Market Gardening. Peas come help us process, pack and sort seeds in preparation for the 2016 Seedy Saturdays/Sundays and to send out to all of our branches. Learn (or practice) seed saving skills and enjoy the company of some of the seediest folks in town! No knead to bee present for the whole event- feel free to drop in any thyme between 10am and 4:30pm to help out a beet! Rye's Homegrown First Fridays begin March 4th

First Fridays Begin March 4thWelcome back! We hope you are enjoying your winter hibernation and are excited to help us start preparing for a new season. We'll be starting this week with our First Friday drop-in event to discuss and plan for the gardens. Seeing as this is the first event of the year, there will be a Meet and Greet for anyone who wants to discuss urban agriculture on campus and find out how to get involved with the project throughout the growing season. The Meet and Greet portion will include a presentation on our programming for the year, followed by a seed-planning activity for our greenhouse-seedling operation.
